THE WORK
Gelcoat polishing and marine ceramic coating
Gelcoat does not fade; it oxidises. The sun breaks its surface into a fine chalk that dulls the hull a little more each season. We polish it back to colour and depth, then seal it under a marine ceramic made for salt, sun and the wash-down hose. The coating is covered for twelve months by Rabbit.
Protection film for the hull’s high-wear places
Clear film on the places that take the knocks: rub rails, the bow, the swim platform, the steps down to the water. Fenders, lines and bare feet wear through gelcoat long before the sun does. The film takes it instead.
Yacht interior cleaning and care
Upholstery, teak and cabins cleaned and protected against salt air and damp, so the boat smells of nothing when you step aboard. Helm seats, sunpads and cushions are treated for the sun that reaches them every day.
A boat care plan for the season
Scheduled visits through the season, so the boat is kept rather than rescued. We set the dates with the captain, come to the berth, and leave a short record of what was done each time.

How much does boat detailing cost in Doha?
By the foot. The length of the boat, times a rate for the work it needs, so a thirty-foot boat pays for thirty feet. There is no number on this page because the rate follows the state of the gelcoat, and that is what the free assessment at the berth settles. One written figure before anything starts.
Why has the hull gone dull and chalky?
Gelcoat oxidation. The sun breaks the surface of the gelcoat down into a fine chalk that dulls the colour and holds dirt, and in Qatar it happens faster than the boat’s maker had in mind. It is corrected by polishing the oxidised layer away and sealing the sound gelcoat underneath, which is the first of our four services.
Does ceramic coating work on a boat?
Yes, with a coating made for gelcoat rather than for car paint. A marine ceramic bonds to the polished gelcoat and leaves a hard, slick surface that sheds salt, sun and grime: the hull washes down in minutes and holds its colour between visits. Rabbit covers its marine ceramic for twelve months.
How often should a boat be polished in Qatar?
Once the gelcoat is sealed under a ceramic, once a season. Bare gelcoat in this sun wants polishing twice a year, and every polish takes a little of it away; the coating is what ends that cycle. The season care plan sets the visits in advance, so the boat is kept rather than rescued.
Do you work at the marina, or does the boat have to come out of the water?
At the berth, for everything above the waterline: gelcoat, coating, film and interiors. Antifouling and anything below the waterline are not our work. If the boat is already out in the yard, we work there.
Which boats do you take?
Any boat with a gelcoat hull, whatever its length: a day boat, a sport fisher, a motor yacht, a tender. The price is by the foot, so a small boat costs what a small boat should, and the assessment is the same walk around the boat whatever its size.
Is there a warranty?
The marine ceramic coating carries twelve months, issued by Rabbit, not transferable. Film, interior care and the season plan carry no warranty. A record and photographs of every visit stay in the Rabbit app.
